I was recently contacted to do a painting of the original transformers. A battle scene featuring the two main characters, Optimus Prime and Megatron. The customer wanted the characters how they were portrayed in the original eighties cartoon.

After a week long design process in which I liaised with the customer and worked to create the design he wanted I began the final piece. The final piece features the two main characters, Optimus Prime and Megatron but also Bumble Bee, Ratchet, Skywarp and Star Scream on the backdrop of an earth city being destroyed by the battle they are taking part in.

Transformers has a cult following from its origins as a twenty minute cartoon toy advert and has branched out into comic books, games and now a big budget Hollywood action movie directed by Michael Bay.
